Employees who are resentful, overworked, mentally ill, or who are under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol can pose hazards within the organization. Moreover, threats from outside the organization might originate from persons with criminal intent and/or wanting revenge on an employee or the organization. 

Likewise, every year, about 2 million American workers claim to have experienced workplace violence. Being aware of items in your immediate work area that could be used as weapons if someone becomes irate and violent in order to promote care, welfare, safety, and security at work. Additionally, it is advantageous to inform personnel about appropriate response procedures in the event that a violent situation arises.

Violence in the Workplace Training

There are four types of workplace violence:

  • Violence by strangers
  • Violence by clients
  • Violence by coworkers
  • Violence by personal relationships
