E-cigarettes and their dangers

E-cigarettes are still making national headlines. The Center for Disease Control has done further research into the matter. While they are still unsure of what is causing all the deaths, they have a clearer idea now. The CDC has found a connection between THC in these products and the sicknesses.

Subsequently, EVALI related illnesses have gone down. However, this doesn’t mean that vaping is completely safe yet. The CDC reported that 82% of EVALI patients used products with THC inside them. They have also discovered that the Vitamin E Acetate could be linked to the outbreak.

However, there were other instances where neither was found. The CDC found that in these instances, older women were the likely victims. This is why they are still not completely sure what is causing all the deaths and illnesses.

The outbreak largely affects young people. The CDC recommends abstaining from vaping products or quitting smoking altogether. However, if the need to vape or smoke continues, they suggest using products that are FDA approved.

For now, the CDC recommends that users stay away from products that contain THC and Vitamin E Acetate. For those that use e-cigarettes to quit smoking, the CDC has another recommendation. They suggest using medications designed to help people quit smoking.

Lastly, anyone with any concerns over using these products and their health should see a health professional immediately.
