The following Discussing Dementia Diagnosis Training is designed to educate healthcare providers (HCP) on how to provide a dementia diagnosis. As our population ages, the incidence of dementia is on the rise, making it more important than ever for healthcare professionals to be well-equipped with the knowledge and skills to recognize and diagnose this complex condition. This training aims to bridge the gap between emerging research and clinical practice, providing practitioners with the latest diagnostic tools and methodologies

What you will learn:

  • Points to address with persons who have a diagnosis of dementia
  • Important issues to consider when discussing a dementia diagnosis with care partners
  • HIPAA rules affecting the disclosure of a diagnosis of dementia to an individual’s family members, friends, or other care partner(s)
  • When to refer persons living with dementia to a neurologist or geriatric psychiatrist
